I hate live music. It's always too loud, too crowded, too late, too something. I'd really rather stick pins in my eyes than go see a band. I guess it's because I am 100 years old.
There's a place here in Philly that has live music all the time; here's a lineup of some cool bands coming in the next several weeks:
10/31: The Sisters of Mercy. That song that goes 'hey now, hey now now, something this corrosion, hey now' is awesome. But they broke up before it was legal for me to drive a car, so WTF.
11/6: Matthew Sweet. I saw him in 1992 (!) at the Paradise in Boston, pre-Drew Bledsoe crowd-surfing incident. A long time ago.
11/18: The Aquabats. These are the dudes behind Yo Gabba Gabba and I may have to make an exception to my no-live-music-at-bars rule.
But I probably won't. Because I'm 100. And I know that crowd will be rowdy.
