Sorry for my lack of interesting posts the last few days.  I've been in a deep dark fog of migraine pain.  Thank God for Imitrex.  Also, thank God for health insurance because these pills run about $20 each.  I used to get Relpax in Boston but here in WNY it's Imitrex.  And that's fine with me.  As long as it works.

Going to see the falls is a great thing, especially with out of town guests.

Yesterday I had the most delicious new drink from Starbucks...the Mint Mocha Chip Frappuchino.  It was quite tasty and I highly recommend you try one.

Of course I bought it on the way to a work meeting.  And at the meeting I had to talk about work.  So that kind of ruined it for me.

four years too late

So I've been on eBay a lot lately.  Mostly bidding but not winning....until last night:

These are the Kate Spade Fleur mule heels that I have coveted for four years.  In May 2001, I spent hours searching for these to wear at my wedding.  My wedding dress was off-white and not too fancy so I wanted to liven things up with a cute and fun shoe underneath all that taffeta.  Unfortunately, back then these shoes were (1) impossible to find and (2) $300 if you could find them at all.  And I refused to pay $300 for a pair of shoes. 

So I bought a nice ivory mule at Lord and Taylor and made do.  But I never forgot about the Kate Spade shoes.  And now they are mine.  And I have no where to wear them.

Some of you eagle-eye readers may recognize the Fleur print; I do have the Kate tote in the same print.  I promise to never wear the shoes and carry the bag at the same time because that's just gay.

jennifers

Writing about yesterday's missed meetup with Jenn (on the phone: "hi, is Jenn there?  This is Jen") got me to thinking about all the Jennifers out there.  I'm blog friends with at least five other Jens (Jennifer, Jennifer, Jenn, Jenn, Jenny) but am not personally friends with a Jen, which is weird because there were a ton of Jens in highschool and at least six in my sorority.  But they were all bitchy.

It does not seem that anyone is naming their baby girls Jennifer these days. Jennifer was a Top 10 name from 1967-1993 but has not even hit the top 25 in the last decade.  Lots of Ashleys and Madisons out there.  And Avas.

I tried to join the 'Jennifer ring' (logo at left) but they never responded so they are either no longer taking members or do not like me because I say fuck a lot in my blog. 

And now for your reading pleasure, whether you are a Jennifer or you just love a Jennifer.  And who does not love a Jennifer?

Today was my day to sleep in (thanks Peter!) so I didn't drag myself downstairs until 9am.  I decided to take Will to the Greek Festival downtown and leave Peter alone to do some chores.  At the festival Will and I ate and hung out for a bit but just missed meeting up with Jenn from Buffalo Rising.  Too bad we had to leave; Will was getting ready for naptime.

Peter and my dad spent a few hours putting up the swingset in the backyard.  It's not 100% complete but it's a start.

And the mini is still dead in the driveway.  Where it has been for 18 days.  Eighteen days.  Count 'em.  I can't even get near it without wanting to kick it so I took this shot from our bedroom window.
