Basically, 10 grand. That's the average cost to remodel a bathroom. We have 2.5 bathrooms in our house and they need to be ripped out and made new. Now. The funky retro creamic tiles are cute but everything else is just not that great. I was spoiled in South Boston with my enormous all-marble Master Bath. Here's the bathroom I really want.
Our current Master Bath has a showerhead that juts out of the wall about 5 feet high. I'm 5'9", so picture me, with a head full of soapsuds, bending back to rinse my hair. Not good for the back. The previous owners were not dwarfs so I say what's up with that? The lighting is bad, the sink is enormous compared to the tiny toilet and the only thing I really like is the USED RAZOR BLADES dispenser above the sink. So 1932.
The guest bath is better, although the only one who uses it is Petey the cat, and well...guests. The tiles are black and minty green. I might consider leaving that bathroom as is but painting the walls a nice pinky color and making it the preppy bathroom. I will have to start carrying a Pappagallo purse when I goes in there.
The powder room on the first floor is narrow and cold. Don't go in there with bare feet, you'll get frostbite.
We've called the contractor who did our kitchen (26K, thankyouverymuch) and now we just need to choose a design and pony up 10 grand. Got any money we can borrow?
I love your bathrooms! I'm not even kidding. They are so cool and totally go with the house. Okay, it was a little chilly when I showered in the guest bath considering the curtain only closes halfway due to the funky slant in the ceiling. But I wouldn't change them!! Sorry, no money to lend...can't even afford the house we're renovating. We like to live beyond our means!!

Extra money for you? I don't think so. My kitchen has no dishwasher and won't until we remodel it so that there is a place to put a dishwasher. Gah!
